Sri Lanka Workshop - Wrap Up

Well most of you know by now but Saturday was a HUGE success and we raised over $2000. What a hoot. You ladies are awesome. We had lots of fun scrapping and catching up with friends. After talking about dreams and how we are all full of loads of potential, attendees could make a little tag with a quote to remind us of just that. Also the ladies had the opportunity to participate in a couple of other things during the day. One being a layout competition - only requirement was to use the word DREAM. Also other ladies took advantage of the photos provided and help out making an album for the orphanage by completing a 12x12 layout. The layouts that were produced were lovely and it brought a tear to my eyes when looking at them all and just can't wait to get an album to put them in. Wouldn't I love to see the faces of those children when they go through that book.

Michelle Lugg won the "Dream" competition. There were so many beautiful entries but considering the cause for the day this layout grabbed my attention.

Well here are a few photos from the day.

Workshop Update

Can you believe it - its only a week away. These workshops seem to come around quickly.
Just a quick note. I will be sending out the discount vouchers for Chandon Craft this weekend to all people who have paid. Please note this voucher is only valid for this week and not after the workshop.

In regards to the workshop next week. Please note that there is a lot of work being done around the church at the moment. The entrance to the church has changed if you haven't already noticed. Entrance is now via Scenic Road near the new roundabout. Follow that road around and you will see the new church entrance. There is also a huge amount of work happening to the front of the actual church too. You will be able to drop off your supplies etc at the front door but please make sure you then go and park you car in one of the newly created car parks out of the way. Sorry for the inconvience but trust me it will all be worth it once the building works are all finished next year.

Due to the success and the fun had by those who took past at the last workshop I will also be running a couple of little competitions of the day.
Just to give you a clue on what one is about......Think about your dreams....... (that is all Im saying). Dream big....

Im really looking forward to this workshop. Stephen Kaiser, owner of Kaisercraft will also be coming to say a little bit to us on the Orphanage that he has set up in Sri Lanka so that is something to look forward to also.

If you have any further queries, please contact me.
thanks
Melissa

Workshop Update - March 2008

Just want to apologise for not having more information out yet for the next workshop.
Tentatively looking at 15th March - but cannot confirm these dates yet.
As my church - where we hold our workshops - is currently being renovated - and massive amounts of work is being done around the grounds - things are still up in the air about what we will be able to get at around thistime - so when I have more information I will pass it on. Okay - hope you all understand
love

Workshop Wrap Up

A huge thank you to all who attended our last workshop for the year. We had plum puddings and elves and angels and Mary's and even Scrooge. Im hoping you all enjoyed yourselves as much fun as I did and we raised a whopping $1100+ (still paying out some money) but getting the rest of the vouchers in the next couple of days for the hampers. They all got packed on Sunday, thanks to my girls who helped (maybe they would have been done quicker if they didn't - Ellie set up a pretend scanner and had to scan every item before the were placed into a basket) anyway we ended up with 6 FULL ones to give away. Four are going to the people I mentioned previously on our list and the others will be given to someone in need (am speaking to a lady who is organising this). Anyway thank you again for a wonderful day and supporting this cause.

Now for a reminder of the fun we had throughout the day - you all looked so gorgeous I thought I would just post up some of the photos for you.

Deb fron Chandon won the Quote layout competition and Bee won our Fancy dress, with Aggie coming second and Rachel coming 3rd - well done girls and thanks for the effort you put in with your costumes. Check out Bee celebrating with a plate full of goodies....ROFPMP
