Invitation and thank you

Just want to say a HUGE thank you to those of you who helped me out by coming along to the workshop class yesterday. You may not realise it was great to get your opinions and there are definately a few changes i need to make before i go away.
So glad i had the opportunity to do this before going. Anyway thank again for all your help.

INVITATION
THURSDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER
BARRABOOL HILLS COMMUNITY CHURCH
7.30 PM
A lady called Lyn Lusi is going to be speaking at our church this Thursday night (17th September). She is one of the founders of HEAL AFRICA an organization set up to help out women in Africa that have been abused by the continual violence against women. Rape is a weapon of war in Goma and because of this many womens lives have been destroyed, not only physically but mentally. Thanks to Heal Africa and the hospitals they are setting up they are ONE BY ONE rebuilding these womens life.. Only recently this month Hillary Clinton spent time with HEAL AFRICA talking to patients.

Im inviting any of you who would like to hear more about this to come along 7.30 pm up at Barrabool Hills to hear this lady. BRING YOUR TISSUES.
Would love to catch up with you there and have a coffee afterwards. Get a group together and come along. It won't be all pretty stories www.smh.com.au/interactive/2009/congo/index.html but we need to know what is going on in the world and help out if we can.
Let me know if you are interested in coming
Mel

I think this will probably become one of the causes that we support at one of our upcoming Crop for a Causes.

WELL, WELL yes we brought a WELL

Girls i have something exciting to tell you.

You know how we were trying to raise enough to buy a rickshaw or two at the last workshop - well we raised more than that. So instead of being able to just help out one or two families I opted for a whole community..

Just waiting for paperwork to arrive but we purchased a WHOLE WELL for a community in India. We even got a little plaque on a wall nearby to tell them we care.

I asked them to write the following;

"MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OTHERS"

Crop 4 A Cause Ladies

Geelong July 2009

I know to many of you it may not feel like you actually did or gave much, but together we can truly make a difference and you can not underestimate the value of your part in this.
Thank you so much to all of you who were part of this past workshop.

WHAT's NEXT;
Things as you know have been a bit busy with work and so i haven't organised another workshop as yet for between now and Christmas - though the Christmas one is fully locked in - 12th December up in the Church function room (numbers will be limited to 90) - will give you further details as I get them on this.
If you are interested in just having a couple of get together crops (no kits - just come and scrap - minimum cost) - money will be put towards the Christmas Workshop - leave a comment under this. I will keep checking and if we have enough responses i will arrange another one. If you have other suggestions - feel free to leave those comments too.

Hope to catch up with you all soon
Mel
